Thank You God for Your plans!!

These two songs sum up all that I am currently going through!!

Voice of a Savior Album: True Beauty (2007)

Some people try to listen to the bottom of a bottle
Some people try to listen to a needle in their arm
Some people try to listen to the money in their pocket
Some people try to listen to another's arms

You and I are not that different
We got a void and we're just trying to fill it up
With something that will give just a little peace
All we want is a hand to reach to
Open arms that say I love you
    We'd give anything to hear
    The voice of a Savior

Some people try to find it with blind ambition
Some people try to find it where no one else has gone
Some people try to find it in the crowns of victory
Some people get defeated and lose the strength to carry on

Some people try to find it in the shadow of a steeple
Some people try to find it in the back row pew
Some people try to find it in the arms of Jesus
That's where I found it, how about you?

    God Speaking
    Album: True Beauty (2007)

Have you ever heard a love song
    That set your spirit free
Have you ever watched a sunrise
And felt you could not breathe
    What if it's Him
    What if it's God speaking
Have you ever cried a tear that
    You could not explain
Have you ever met a stranger
    That already knew your name
    What if it's Him
    What if it's God speaking

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us
Get our attention to prove He is enough
    He'll do and He'll use
    Whatever He wants to
To tell us I love you

Have you ever lost a loved one
Who you thought should still be here
Do you know what it feels like
To be tangled up in fear
    What if He's somehow involved
What if He's speaking through it all

    His ways are higher
    His ways are better
    Though sometimes strange
    What could be stranger
    Than God in a manger

    God is speaking
    I love you

    Isn't life interesting!

Really what is there to say, I have an interesting life. Who knew that once accepting my call to Officership I would have such an unpredictable ride. Well of course God knew, but at times it would be nice if He would give a heads up to the surprises and detours.

Here are just some of the surprises, detours, bumps and craziness...

    1. Bridgebuilder Session --> We are one amazing group!

    2. Summer Assignment - Santiago, Chile --> I still can't believe that one

    3. Christmas Assignment - Val & I had a blast!

    4. Realizing I don't always get MY way. --> It's an only child thing

    5. Having 3 appointments in 4 years of service

    6. Finally getting that officership is a gift that a hand full of people were selected for

    7. I really do love being an officer and I do look better with red epaulets than blue

    8. I am glad I am a Captain I can't spell luetanent???

    9. The joy of a wedding cermony with the song "Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue (The Angry American" by Toby Keith is played. -->Just look up the lyrics and picture it in your corps

    10. The death of a corps member never gets easy.

    11. Yes I am LOUDER LOWDER

    12. No, I don't have a husband and I'm okay

    I Have Been

    I Have Been – Luke 10:25 – 37

    Written by: Me

    I have been the Robber.

Hitting with my words. Striking with my tongue. Beating with my mouth.

    I have been the Priest.

Turning my head walking away, no compassion.

    I have been the Levite.

Crossing the street, ignoring the pain.

    I have been the Wounded.

Reaching, crying for help. Ignored by so many.

    I have been the Samaritan.

Getting down off my high horse and meeting a need.

    I have been the Ointments.

Pouring myself out to heal another. Cleaning the wounds of past pains.

    I have been the Stead.

Carrying the hurting on my back.

I have been the Inn Keeper.

Taking care of the wounded, helping on the healing.

    I have been so many.

Yet who has been for me?
